Tax Tracking vs Price Tracking
Price trackers (CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap) show you what your portfolio is worth right now. Tax tools (Koinly, CoinTracker) show you what you owe on it. These are different problems and different tools.
If you have traded across multiple exchanges, moved tokens between wallets, or used DeFi protocols, manual tax calculation is error prone. A dedicated tax tool that imports all transactions and applies the correct cost basis method is worth the subscription cost.
